Recreation Asset Management Workshop

Educate staff on best practice for recreation operations.

We did not anticipate this level of excitement and interest around our recreation workshop - our original goal was to host a small group of recreation professionals on Friday mornings for a couple weeks of informal training sessions. The interest quickly grew and resulted in 4 classes of 20+ participants per class in under a week. One class was fully booked in under 2 hours.

In addition, not only recreation staff but also finance, operations, and administration professionals registered. Many signed up while on vacation because they did not want to miss out. One individual mentioned they were away for 1 week, came back to their office and noticed they missed out on 3 fully booked classes and needed to get involved immediately. Some employees told their staff this workshop is essential and their participation is required. The Recreation Asset Management Workshop will have participants from across Canada and the USA.

Course Material:

Session #1: Inventory
Session #2: Inspections/PM
Session #3: Work Orders
Session #4: Lifecycle Planning
Session #5: Safety & Compliance

The first half of each session will consist of an Asset Management presentation related to each sessions’ theme. During the second half the class will go through exercises and practical examples of how to convert current practices and apply course knowledge by using the RFAM solution to develop a living Recreation Asset Management Strategy.
