The staff at the Township of South Glengarry had been searching for a solution to help them better manage their recreation assets. South Glengarry owns a number of parks, recreation facilities, museums, trails, and other municipal buildings. Their goal was to improve inventory tracking, streamline preventative maintenance work, and improve their handling of work orders and incoming service requests. They realized that paper and spreadsheets just was not going to cut it.

The municipality found RFAM and immediately took steps to integrate it to make their job easier when it comes to recreation asset management. South Glengarry generously hosted 2 representatives from Marmak to assist with the logging and tracking of their capital assets (greater than $5,000 in value). Over a two-day period, all of their asset inventory was collected for the entire town; properly documented with images and notes.

Since then the municipality has found additional documentation on their assets that they have added into RFAM such as roof inspections for all of their facilities, standardized operating procedures, and other valuable pieces of information they want to track and maintain for best practice.

The Goal

It is clear that South Glengarry has a goal to improve the management of their assets in order to save money, improve department efficiency, and most importantly to keep assets safe for the community. Marmak and ORFA are excited to collaborate with South Glengarry and continue to support their progress on asset management.

"Our mission was to verify the condition of our assets and protect our community. RFAM has helped us do that and so much more."
